I have been a happy resident of Milford since 2018. Before that I lived in quite a few places which have all been unique but there is nothing like Milford, it is my ‘forever home’.
I embrace creativity in its many forms but what has been consistent in my life has been my love and skill for watercolor painting. I absolutely love natural science painting from botanicals to bugs because they are so complex and yet ask nothing of us. Also, to nurture this love I spend lot’s of time in museums because it feeds my nature. I grew up in the Midwest and was landlocked unless you think of the Mississippi River as an outlet for your soul. Moving to Milford, very close to the water, has opened my eyes and my heart to the beauty of the water of the Sound. Recently, I began a French Pastry Class and have learned how to make and create lots of good things. Although my waistline would disagree, it’s one of the better educations that I have embarked on.
About Suzanne Wagner
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I have three adult children and with their spouses have delighted me with five grandchildren. What fun they are! Two of my children and their families live close by in surrounding towns and one of them, with his wife and their three children, live in France. So, you know what that means….trips to France are always on my ‘to do’ list.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I’m an ordained pastor in the United Church of Christ and after serving several congregations in the area, and being a chaplain at the West Haven VA, I am happily retired. But, not entirely. I still help out, part time, here and there. It has been a rewarding vocation and call and what I love most is helping people in the many ways that I have over the years.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Be in the moment and enjoy what is right in front of you! And, never turn down a job that hasn’t been offered to you, in other words, stay open to all possibilities.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
In my home, painting, nurturing the grandchildren and loving them up! And, of course, baking.
